Ashley Olsen Takes Casual to Couture

An outfit that looks this effortless probably required a lot of thought, but I love how Ashley Olsen manages to make such a casual outfit look so chic. Here's Ashley looking her usual fabulous self at the Everywhere at Once cocktail party and screening. From the knees up, Ashley's look is way laid back, just a grey sweater paired with a simple black skirt. But what takes the look from fashionably safe to fashionably forward is Ashley's choice of shoe. Gladiator sandals are big this season (specifically this pair, Balenciaga's tie-dye gladiator), and Ashley Olsen shows us exactly how to work them. Who knew what a difference a shoe could make?

Dear Jennifer Hudson, Leggings Are Not Pants

First off, let me begin with saying that I'm a fan of leggings. When done right, they help add trendiness to an outfit, and can quickly pull a look together. But, I'm not a fan of leggings worn with tops that don't cover the hips. Jennifer Hudson, pictured on her way through an airport, shows us just why leggings worn with a too short top just aren't flattering. Leggings are not pants, so to avoid risk of camel toe and other indecent-ness, lol you've got to pair them tops that at least hit at the top of your thighs. Tights are still a trend that's in season; just be careful when you add them to your wardrobe.

Check My Footwork...Gwyneth Paltrow Edition

Gwyneth Paltrow's got a new movie coming out (Iron Man), so with that comes lots of promotional events. And with promotional events come Gwyneth dressed in fabulous outfits. If you can take your eyes off of her great ensembles, check out Gwyneth's footwork. Clearly, when it comes to shoes, Miss Paltrow (or Mrs. Martin if you're nasty, lol) likes her heels high and skinny. What better way is there? If you want to get your strut on like Gwyneth, a shoe with both a platform and a stiletto heel will work wonders. Say What? Amy Winehouse is Roberto Cavalli's New Muse?

The fashion world's abuzz with rumors that Amy Winehouse has been offered a deal with designer Roberto Cavalli. Per the rumored agreement, Winehouse would receive Cavalli's creations for free as long as she wore them to high profile events. Fashion houses make these types of deals with celebrities all the time, but is Amy Winehouse, in her current state, who you want to represent your brand? I'm not going to knock the hustle though, if Cavalli wants Amy, then so be it, lol. I'm sure you're wondering how this match up came to be. Well, apparently, Victoria Beckham, whom Cavalli dressed for the Spice Girls tour, mentioned to the designer that she like Amy's unique style. Who knew that being on Posh's radar could be so lucrative?
