Would You Wear?...Ashley Tisdale's Gladiator Boots

The gladiator sandal is hands down this summer's 'it' shoe. If you stay up on fashion trends, then you probably own a pair. But are you ready to take the trend to the next level? High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale was seen running errands wearing these calf length gladiator boots. In theory, the idea of a gladiator boot seems crazy, but I have to say, I kind of like them. They're definitely not for everyone, though. If you're gonna wear a shoe like this, then you have to have the batch! attitude to go along with them, lol. Will you be picking up a pair of gladiator boots?

What's Happening?...Kanye West, Shoe Designer

According to Women's Wear Daily, Kanye West, rapper extraordinaire, will be lending his creative genius to the Louis Vuitton brand. Just exactly will Kanye be doing for Louis Vuitton? Well, the self proclaimed Louis Vuitton don, is apparently working on a men's shoes line. I know people either love or hate Kanye, but I'm definitely in the 'love' column, lol. He has a great personal style and sense of fashion, so I can't wait to see what he'll bring to Louis Vuitton.

Lindsay Lohan Is A Balenciaga Girl

Lindsay Lohan was spotting moving some of her things out of "friend," Samantha Ronson's house over the weekend. What caught my eye, is how the starlet is matching her designer labels. Lindsay matches her Balenciaga 'city' bag with Balenciaga gladiator boots, but it's not only the designer brand that Lindsay's matching. She's also made sure that the berry color of her bag, matches the berry color that runs through her shoe. I thought we'd moved past the days of your bag having to match your shoes. But when it's Balenciaga, I guess exceptions can be made, lol.

I Want That!...Carrie's Dior Gladiators

Speaking of Sex and The City, if you're a fan of the show (or if you've seen the movie), then you know that designer shoes are just as much a character as the ladies themselves are. Gladiators are the 'it' shoe of the season, so you know they'd be featured fashion's 'it' movie of the summer. This pair, worn by Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, are the Extreme Dior Gladiator Platform. Of all the gladiator sandals I've seen of late, these have got to be my favorite pair. If you've fallen in love too, you can pick them up from eLuxury for a mere $770. If you're on a budget (like I am, lol), you can get this cheaper version of the shoe, called Candice, from Bakers Footwear for $65. So which pair will you purchase? The real deal, or the steal?

Ashley Olsen Takes Casual to Couture

An outfit that looks this effortless probably required a lot of thought, but I love how Ashley Olsen manages to make such a casual outfit look so chic. Here's Ashley looking her usual fabulous self at the Everywhere at Once cocktail party and screening. From the knees up, Ashley's look is way laid back, just a grey sweater paired with a simple black skirt. But what takes the look from fashionably safe to fashionably forward is Ashley's choice of shoe. Gladiator sandals are big this season (specifically this pair, Balenciaga's tie-dye gladiator), and Ashley Olsen shows us exactly how to work them. Who knew what a difference a shoe could make?

Check My Footwork...Gwyneth Paltrow Edition

Gwyneth Paltrow's got a new movie coming out (Iron Man), so with that comes lots of promotional events. And with promotional events come Gwyneth dressed in fabulous outfits. If you can take your eyes off of her great ensembles, check out Gwyneth's footwork. Clearly, when it comes to shoes, Miss Paltrow (or Mrs. Martin if you're nasty, lol) likes her heels high and skinny. What better way is there? If you want to get your strut on like Gwyneth, a shoe with both a platform and a stiletto heel will work wonders. Jennifer Hudson Is Working Those Knee High Boots

Jennifer Hudson proves that yes, curvy girls can rock the tights and knee high boots trend, and look good while doing so. Most often, trends can work for almost anyone, it's just a matter of tailoring them to work for you and your body type. You'd think that this particular trend, knee high boots and tights, would only look great on thin women with long legs, but that's not the case. If you're curvy, or short, or both, make sure your tights and boots are the same color. This lengthens the leg by creating one long visual line. Also, note how Jennifer pairs her fitted dress with a waist cinched cape. Because the dress is fitted, it further lengthens the line of the leg all the way to the hip. But the cape allows for some tummy room while still showcasing a waist. Just because you have some curves, doesn't mean you can't try out trends!

Trendspotting...Over The Knee Boots

I'm always on the lookout for a great boot, and I have to say that I love this new over the knee trend. Once relegated to the category of hooker heels, this modern take on over the knee boots is both versatile and wearable. Each of the celebs seen above, Rihanna, Hilary Duff, and Hayden Panettiere, have chosen to wear their over the knee boots in a different way. While both Rihanna and Hilary are wearing flats, Rihanna opted for a chic suede boot with a pointed toe, while Hilary has gone more of the biker chic route with leather and a rounded toe. Hayden on the other hand, is wearing the type of boot that most people think of when they hear 'over the knee boot.' It's kind of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, but surprisingly, it doesn't come off as skanky on Hayden (at least not to me, lol). Hayden toes the line of skanky v. trendy but stays on the trendy side by keeping the rest of her outfit classic.

This is another one of those trends that's either hit or miss, and not easy to wear. But, don't let that stop you from trying it! If you're gonna give over the knee boots a try, just wear them confidently. Half the battle of looking fly, is just believing in what you're wearing. Trendspotting...Go Nude!

Nude pumps have been a big hit this summer. They've been seen on everyone from Amerie to Jessica Biel. I think what's made the trend work so well is that the nude color looks great on a variety of shoe styles. Nude looks great on peep toes, platforms, mary janes, and even loafer style pumps. Plus, a nude shoe instantly lengthens the leg. What more could a girl ask for in a shoe? Lol. Be sure to get in on this trend before the warm season is over.

I guess I should have explained this trend better. Some readers have commented that this wouldn't work on black women. But that's so not true, lol. Nude just simply refers to a shoe color that matches your skin tone. If your skin tone is dark, just find a browner shoe. And the the lighter nude colors, actually look great against dark skin. The lighter nude color pops against darker skin, yet it still provides the leg lengthening effect because the color is a skin tone.

Get Them While They're Hot!...YSL Tribute Heel

This season's must have shoe-- worn by everyone including Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Victoria Beckham-- is available for pre-order from Saks Fifth Avenue. The Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Mary Jane is available online for only $660. Yeah, I know that a lot of money for a shoe, but if you've got the extra cash and you're a shoe freak, then these are a must have. The instant these shoes appeared on the celebrity scene, they began selling out everywhere, so if you want them, this will probably be your easiest chance to get them. The Tribute Mary Janes come in two heel sizes, four inches, and the version seen on most celebs, six inches! I believe the Saks version have the four inch heel, so you won't have to be an acrobat to get around in these, lol. If you want to be the like the famous people, you gotta get these shoes while they're hot!

These Jessica Simpson heels are a perfect option for those of us who can't afford the Tribute Mary Janes, lol. They're a much more price friendly alternative, at over $500 less than the originals.

Jessica Simpson Goes Nude?!?...On Her Feet, Silly

Jessica Simpson made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in France, and it's easy to become distracted by all the stripes on her dress. It's easy to just be distracted by her dress period, lol. But if you keep looking lower, check out Jessica's shoes. I love how her tan heels blend perfectly with her tanned skin and almost make it look as though Jessica isn't wearing any shoes. This would be a perfect summer look to show off both your great legs, and your fabulous tan. Plus, with the shoes matching Jessica's tan so perfectly, it makes her legs look infinitely longer. I'm sure that trick will work for you, too!

Who Wore It Better?...Hilary or Mandy

Both Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore recently went out wearing these turquoise Miu Miu mary janes. If you recall, the black pair are a favorite of Lindsay Lohan. I like the way that both ladies wear the shoes. Hilary's young, and her pairing of the shoes with short shorts and a flirty tank reflect that. Her look is youthful and fun. Mandy on the other hand went for a slightly more mature look. These colorful shoes and an instant pop to her black silk dress. What could have been a plain ensemble is made chic by simply adding funky shoes. You can learn from both Hilary and Mandy and grab a pair of bright shoes for yourself. Follow in Mandy's footsteps and pair your pumps with a neutral outfit. All eyes will definitely be on your feet. Or you could find inspiration from Hilary, and use your shoes as an accessory to an already fun look. Summer is all about being flirty and fun, so don't be afraid to wear a little color.

Every Girl Should Own...A Pair of Gold Pumps

If you're looking to ad instant glam to any outfit, a pair of gold heels is the way to go. To take a jean and tee look from day to night, gold heels will add a more formal flair. Combining gold heels with a fitted pencil skirt is the perfect way to be conservatively sexy. And of course with warmer weather, a pair of gold strappy sandals would go perfect with a flirty sundress.
